WOOD BADGE WE6-49-11

Hard to believe, but as of today, we have 43 registrations! It looks like we have alot of excited scout leaders ready for a great spring experience. It just goes to show that Wood Badge inspires people to want to do more to become the best leader they can be for the youth they serve.

Within less than 24 hours of the announcement that electronic registration had opened for the course we have nearly half the course filled. It is obvious scout leaders are anxious to be a part of this great training experience. If you are thinking about this, don't delay!

We had a great time welcoming some of our newest Wood Badge scouters to Troop 1 on Saturday at the Council Wood Badge reunion. Two even joined in long-distance from Florida and Panama by Skype. Wood Badge really is a world-wide event with far-reaching influence. It's great to have a few more members of the Troop.

We are looking forward to seeing fellow Wood Badgers and interested scout leaders who have not attended Wood Badge yet at the June 5 Wood Badge reunion to be held at Camp Balboa - Atherton Hall from 11am - 3pm. Register now to be included in this great 100th Anniversary event and learn a bit more about Wood Badge. All interested scout leaders are invited to attend. It was great to meet a few more interested scout leaders at the  University of Scouting event today. I hope each will be able to find time in their personal schedules to join us at Mataguay. The response to the course has been great so far and I look forward to making the roster permanent with some registrations as soon as the on-line process is available. I believe it will be soon, so stay tuned!

We are glad to announce the beginning of preparations for the Wood Badge for the 21st Century course for 2011 for San Diego-Imperial Council. The website is evolving every day and we hope to have registration available soon. I'm looking forward to your questions and comments so have at it!
